Overview

The Employee Health & Wellness team is focused on providing excellence in the delivery of services related to the promotion and maintenance of a healthy and safe workplace and learning environment.

Focused on the belief that both the individual and organizational health and safety are important factors affecting the ability of all employees to attend work and to contribute fully to the Board’s mission, this team facilitates programs and services related to:

  • Attendance Support – Includes supportive programs designed to assist employees having difficulties maintaining regular attendance;

  • Disability Support – Through early intervention, provides supports and services to employees absent from work due to illness, and supports their subsequent return to work;

  • Health and Safety - Ensures programs and practices are in place to ensure a healthy and safe work and learning environment, as well as compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act;

  • Wellness – Focuses on workplace wellness as it relates to the psychosocial school board environment, individual lifestyle practices as well as health, safety and prevention;

  • WSIB – Similar to disability management, but related to a workplace accident or illness, provides supports and services to employees absent from work due to illness, and supports their subsequent return to work.
